Cookie Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains how MA Ventures uses cookies and similar technologies such as your browser's local storage. It should be read with our Privacy Policy. We comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, which means we only use non-essential technologies after you agree.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar feature built into your browser that lets a site save information on your device. We use both, and refer to them together as "cookies" where the difference does not matter.
2. Essential storage (no consent needed)
These items are needed for the site to work as you expect, or to remember a choice you made, so they do not require consent.
- Cookie consent choice. Stored in local storage under the key
ma_consent_v1. It records whether you accepted or declined analytics so we do not ask you again on every visit. - Chat history. Stored in your browser's local storage so you can continue a conversation with our assistant. A copy of the conversation is also saved on our server, as described in the Privacy Policy. Clearing your browser data removes only the copy in your browser.
- Chat visitor cookie. A random ID in the
ma_visitorcookie, set when you use our chat assistant. It lets us apply a fair-use limit to the assistant across all your conversations. It does not identify you and is not used for analytics. - Admin session cookie. Used only by our staff when signed in to the admin area. It keeps the login session active. Regular visitors never receive it.
3. Analytics (only with your consent)
We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked, so we can improve it. This analytics storage is used only if you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner.
- Before you consent or if you decline: PostHog runs in a limited mode that keeps data in memory only. It does not write analytics cookies or local storage to your device, and nothing persists once you leave or refresh the page.
- After you accept: PostHog may store an identifier in cookies and local storage so it can recognise returning visits and measure usage over time.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell analytics data.
4. Third-party links
Our site links to services such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram and our partner brokers. These sites set their own cookies under their own policies once you visit them. We do not control them.
5. Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change your mind at any time. The simplest way is to clear this site's data in your browser, which removes your saved choice (ma_consent_v1) and any analytics identifiers. The next time you visit, the cookie banner will appear again and you can choose differently. In most browsers this is found under Settings, then Privacy, then Site data or Cookies. Note that clearing site data will also delete your saved chat history from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may stop parts of the site, such as the chat assistant, from working properly.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy if we change the technologies we use. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions can be sent to contact@maventures.online.
